- - - - strengths and weaknesses, Chelsea is one mysterious, and a bit confusing kind of a girl. In general she leaves an impression of a typical middle class girl, something like a small town girl, which she partially is, due to the fact she moved to London from Colorado where she lived as a small child, and she still has a bit of the small town flair in herself, and in her blood due to her mother's side. With all this said, it's easy to tell that Chelsea loves simplicity. Complications and drama almost frighten her, but, most of all, they annoy her to bits. She's been used to some of it, which occurred when she was still new here and still was blending in, but it was enough to her to get sick of it. Which is why she is more mysterious and withdrawn, and the exact opposite of naive. She seems content as she is, but the truth behind her mysterious behavior is that she'd rather hide all her emotions behind a relaxed smile and silent lips. That way her feelings could remain intact, just the way she prefers them to be. Though this sets a huge problem when it comes to trusting people.
On the outside she is very kind and friendly, but that's only because of her good manners and politeness, when it comes to making friends, or, heaven forbid, falling for a boy, there she becomes even more closed up and suspicious. This is one of the reason why her behavior is so confusing. She's the relaxed and sweet simple girl on the outside, an insecure, emotion denying person inside, and in reality she's something in between. Basically, she's a small town girl that's stuck in a big city. Moving here was never her choice, and she never even got a chance to state her opinion because she was eleven when her parents first decided to move in the first place. But she's selfless enough to hide any discontent she might have, and tries to blend in with the crowd as much as she can. It's also important to mention that once she does befriend a person truly, and trusts the person enough, she's the most loyal and helpful friend, and she's actually quite fun and outgoing once you get to know her. She enjoys helping people, because it makes her feel better and useful, and it's also a generally good feeling when you help someone in need, especially a friend. And it's clear that the few best friends she does find are very rare to her, so she cherishes the people she lets close to her heart very much, almost afraid that they'll leave her once. Her insecurity never fails to knit its bitter threads into every little doubt she has.
Chelsea is also very creative. She is known to have a very passive way of releasing her already mentioned negative emotions, as well as any negative emotions she might have at all, and it's in art and writing. She loves to draw and write and uses those two to express her wishes and feelings. Reading is also one of the things she adores, another one of her escapes, but also a pleasant hobby, so don't be surprised if you find her around the corner, leaned on the wall, or sitting on the bench with her nose in a book. Speaking of books, her school habits are those of a diligent student. Sure, she isn't the brightest button in math and chemistry, mainly because she dislikes those two in general, so it kills any will to concord the two subjects in general, but in other subjects she's quite a good student, with biology and English as her aces.
Another way of showing, or better to say hiding, her emotions is strongly tied with her intelligence, and it's her dry wit, her unique sarcasm. She uses her sarcasm whenever she feels insecure in what to say, it's always the best escape since people mostly don't take it seriously, and it's also a great way of defense, which is why she relies on it so much. Sometimes, when her nerves or emotions are really damaged or threaded away, her sarcasm can even turn bitter and mean, not really rude, but harsh in a way that could hurt other people. Once this happens she loses control of her words and feelings for a moment and usually regrets it when it's too late.
Another trait of Chelsea's is her stubbornness. It might be called persuasiveness or strong will, but mostly it's so strong it can only be called stubbornness. When she sets her mind strongly on something, she just doesn't stop. She cares a lot about getting her opinion heard if she really finds it important, and finds it important to reach her goals. Failing always damages her quite a bit because of the already mentioned insecurity. She needs things to achieve and struggles to win in order to find some use in herself. Mostly, her lack of trust in others makes her rely on just herself, which is why she needs things like this to make herself feel better in stead of using the support of others to do so.
Well, one trait which is more physical than personality-wise, is her clumsiness. Yes, Chelsea isn't the most graceful person ever. Her body shape might make it seem so, but athletic talents simply aren't the ones she bares. Luckily, she does have the already mentioned personality talents, but this is one huge minus in her case. Mostly because her clumsiness seems to strike her in the most awkward moments possible, in her case in the most embarrassing moments possible, due to the fact it's related with her nervousness and stress level.

- - - - overall history, Andrew and Jasmine were young when they met, and due to the lack of a romantic setting they met and arranged a date in one date on their work place. He was a young, graduated with honors architect who was just working on his recent for a pharmacy company, and she was a young graduated chemistry engineer, taking care of the medicine and chemical supplies for the same company. She was a bit younger than him but she was quite mature for her age and charmed him since the moment they first spoke to each other. They actually agreed on a date after a small joke of Jasmine's, when she said how poorly they feed the young, recently graduated chemistry workers here on their job breaks, and Andrew laughed and offered to take her to the most fanciest fullest restaurant to make up for all the 'starving'. Since than, it took two wonderful years of dating and falling in love deeper until they married. And since than, it took two years again until they were blessed with a baby girl. They decided to name her Chelsea
Andrew's family used to live in a town by the sea, and since Chelsea meant a port of ships, he thought to name her that. Jasmine simply adored the name, even not minding its meaning, and agreed, giving her the middle name Marie, which was the name of her mother and Chelsea's grandmother. You could say that Chelsea's birth really was a kind of a blessing, since the chances of her or her mother's survival weren't that big. Jasmine suffered trough some complications, which also happened to her mother and which runs in the family, so Chelsea had to be delivered via Caesar’s cut a month earlier. Being as weak and fragile, even after the little girl made it trough the delivery without any too big signs of damage, except some of her organs needing an incubator to develop fully and work properly, her parents were still worried sick for her. This might've been one of the reason why they were always so extremely over protective over her.
She was born in Colorado, where Jasmine and Andrew lived for awhile after their marriage. Andrew's job took a bit of an unsuccessful turn, so a bit more than one year after their marriage they had to sell their flat in New York and move here. Jasmine’s parents couldn't have said no to their pregnant daughter, of course, and they surely had even the lesser chance of saying no when Jasmine and Andrew asked if they could stay there for awhile longer until Chelsea grows a bit and they save enough money for a decent flat somehwere where Andrew and Jasmine both would finally find a job.
In that meanwhile, Chelsea enjoyed the life on her grandparents' farm quite the bit. She loved the nature and climbed and jumped over anything climable or jumpable. Of course, most, if not all, of her attempts were stopped by her parents. Even though she was, after awhile, perfectly healthy and continued to develop and grow into a perfectly healthy little girl, here parents were still on their caution and warned her about many things. But living on a farm certainly is a place where you could break a few rules, so luckily Chelsea didn't allow herself to develop into a world-frightened creature, and risked as much as she could, climbing and jumping included.
In this case, though, her parents partially had a point. Chelsea wasn't exactly the most graceful child. She had a bit of a graceful dose to herself to make her appear so jumpy and lively, but balancing and running trough a field full of obstacles wasn't her best thing, and there really wasn't a time when her knees or elbows weren't scratched or had a cut. Once, she almost broke her nose by falling down on the concrete in front of her grandparents' house, when she was four and a half. The doctor said she did have a small fraction in the lower part of her nose bone, but nothing much. The front of her nose was always just a bit snub, so her dad often teased her it was because of that very fall, and as a little girl she often got so angry because of that, but would never stay too angry at her parents, for anything, too long. She was in general a calm child when it came to relations with people. She was immensely polite and mature, always greeting her neighbours, helping anyone she could, but very shy and calm. Her parents told her that even as a baby she never cried as much as some of the other children did. She was just always quiet. And for the early part of her childhood, she didn't really have too much people to socialize with and to thus develop her social skills and become more outgoing.
Until she started attending kindergarten, she really had no friends, unless you wanted to qualify the chickens on her grandparents' farm as friends. It was rather obvious how she was a bit different. She was always calm, and her adventurous and curious spirit didn't show in front of others. She was afraid of getting embarrassed and didn't know what to do, which mostly caused the exact counter effect, being embarrassed and teased for being so quiet. She often cried and her kindergarten teachers didn't know what to do to make her blend in with the other children better.
Luckily, she slowly started to develop a bit of independence and found things to do for herself. She played alone, she learned and studied, basically, she occupied her time with as many things just to keep herself from being lonely (which is something she does today as well, sometimes), until her parent came to pick her up. She was always normal around her parents.
In first grade it was the same, worse, and better. The same because she was still odd and insecure. Worse because she knew how poorly children in the kindergarten tolerated her behaviour and quite convenient children here tolerated it less. Better, because it gave her a chance to learn on her mistakes in her previous year and to try and make friends in any way she could. To her, the easiest way was helping others. You could almost never go wrong with that, so Chelsea took that as a plan as well. For awhile, she was almost naive in it, and soon children started taking advantage of it.
By the end of primary school she did find some friends and became more normal for her age again but still wasn't really as outgoing as others. She preferred staying at home and studying, and she also discovered her love toward drawing. She tried very hard to turn it into something more than just simple childish drawings. She discovered that it helped her whenever she was sad, disappointed or lonely, and it happened somewhere around her second grade, so she often draw when she felt that way. It automatically pulled her in her own little world and made her feel better. She already loved to read, but her talent of writing would be discovered a bit later.
Bad thing was, that in the middle of her primary school, her father found a great job in London, England. It was beyond far away from Chelsea's home, but, of course, this was actually a good thing, which was why Chelsea was happy as well. Her mommy and daddy didn't have to stay with her grandparents anymore and they would have their own place. But she barely somewhat blended in here, how would the children there be? At first it was tough, being both the new and the strange her she was teased in many ways. Gradually, it settled down. Her drawing helped her a lot in this point, and she tried to keep even more from going out, since the dusty air and the noise of this city couldn't even be compared to the fresh smell of mowed grass and flowers from her grandparents' farm in Colorado. She felt even more of a stranger here than she did there. She still does, sometimes. In a place like this, it isn't that hard to get lost or to lose yourself.
In junior high school, well, here it was basically worse. This time not the same and not in any way better. The only good thing was that now she handled things better, she was more independent, she actually liked being different than others. Being the middle class wasn't that big of a problem. Most kids from her class were middle class so this wasn't a thing she got teased for. But still, even they seemed to have sided with the rich kids when they decided to tease her because of her mysteriousness. They said she was a nerd, an odd-ball, but some of their offences were far worse. They tried to tease her enough to make her show any emotions, to make her cry or do something. But mostly she did nothing. If she wanted to cry, she would run to the bathroom. If she wanted to run away, she would run away. She applied the same thing when they stated physically abusing her by beating her up when she wouldn't speak to them.
That was when she was eleven and twelve years old, and she broke down more and more. Now was when she discovered her love for writing. She found that writing about her feelings, or anything in general, always helped her when she was hurt, even more than drawing, so she kept doing so. Still, her tears didn't stop. Her bruises didn't disappear with her words. Her mother caught her crying and shaking before she went to school just two times, and it was enough. When she talked Chelsea into showing her her arm, which she saw was blue earlier, it was all she needed for her and Andrew to go to the school and demand something to be done with it. Chelsea tried to stop them, because more attention would only make it worse. They'd think she told on them and only bully her more. The principle, of course, didn't want to cause trouble. He scolded those students and they calmed down, but started picking on her pretty soon. Her parents found a solution of moving her to another class, where those few boys couldn't hurt her anymore, at least they didn't have as big of a chance of hurting her as they had there, seeing her each day all the time. And this proofed to be a good decision because it seemed that this new class accepted Chelsea better. She was finally somewhat well and actually really a part of something, in stead of being the outcast. This made her more friendly and more sure in some of her ways, she never received any more bruises and scars on her body, though the ones on her heart weren't able to fully disappear.
High school was her biggest fear. She new that kids here were tougher, more shallow, more judging and she was too pessimistic of a person to believe she could fit in a world like that. But, to her surprise, it wasn't that bad. There were a few which were again bothered by how withdrawn and mysterious she sometimes was, but this time they tried to fought their way with spreading a few occasional rumors, but that's only something Chelsea laughs at now. Once she became bit more settled in, her warm and relaxed nature came out, so now rare people really dislike her. She now cares more about her future, wanting to expand her writing talent, even though she isn't brave enough to not keep it a secret. She left drawing as just a hobby, but still relies on it a lot.
